    Default Oil additive

Hi all from previous posts about noise i have when accelerating, i thought it might have been tappets/lifters so i used some wynns hydralic lifters treatment, but that did'nt help, i have now bought some redex oil additive, will this do any harm if i add it to the oil as well as having used wynns tappet treatment, dont want to mix 2 products.

I would not put the Two in together, in fact VX don,t recomend you put any additive in at all. I belive that if you use a good quality oil and change it regularly then that is the best action.

I add the wynns super oil additive when I change oil n filters. I have done so for yrs and had no trouble with any cars.

I would only use one oil additive at a time though.

I'm a user of ZX-1 in my engine, gearbox, coolant and fuel.

In the past in previous cars I've used Slick 50 and had no problem with it at all.
Such products though are PTFE (polytetrofluoroethylene) suspended in a liquid medium.
ZX-1 is a metal treatment that uses the engine oil as a transport medium and bonds into the surface of the metal rather than PTFE products which create a coating on those surfaces.

Personally, I say either is good.... down to the user which (if any) they prefer.... but while I doubt there would be any problem in using more than one product at one time, it does seem a little pointless.

Personally and professionally I see absolutely NO need for any additives in the oil. As long as your use a quality oil for your car, additives will not really do anything helpful.

Save your money and buy beer with it instead.
