    Default My EML dilemma

I just had a new water pump/timming belt change + service at cost of £400........... when I picked up the car the mechanic said " oh your EML is on and I dont know what its on for as I cant see anything wrong, but you have a fault code off P2279 inlet leak"........ he said he checked the egr but that was ok......... so now Im left with a car with new timming belt but with the EML on and loss of power as the mechanic doesnt know what the problem is.............. does anybody have any ideas.......or do I just take it to vauxhall. ..... I have 2008 57 reg 1.9 cdti 150 with 66K miles on clock.

Take it back and tell him it didnt have a fault when u dropped it off so he's obviously damaged something so its his problem to sort out.

I would also contact trading standards and see what they say

Is the car still under warranty?

I should have stated the water pump siezed, thats why I had to have it all changed, but Ive never had the EML on before that.... he reckons the eml was on when I brought it in.

Update on this.... I took car to another garage, he reckoned it was the inlet manifold as he said he did a smoke test and the manifold was gubbed.... so I tell him go ahead do it for £500............. calls back today to see if I could pick car up.....erm sorry but your EML is still on, I think it might be a faulty EGR now...........so does that mean the manifold was ok and there was no need to change it......after all that they still cant find whats causing the air intake fault.
