Thumbs up My Vecci CDTI found its Balls - after 93k

More a call of joy than a problem- for once at least. Cleaned my boost sensor and EGR today. Modded the Air Filter and e presto the car comes to life again!
I can highly recommend it to anyone out there with a 1.9 CDTI 150. All it takes is two hours, a good cuppa, some spanners and a bottle of carb and choke cleaner!!! Access is dead easy!

By the way - My EGR was grubby, but still moving freely, not bad for 93k eh?

Superb mate, I noticed a real difference after I cleaned the intake manifold mouth where all the crud gathers, I took the egr off and cleaned it well and used some methylated spirit to clean the boost sensor it makes such a difference

I think more correctly, how many miles have you done with the EGR open, ie. the engine being cold? Seems to be a real killer.

The inlet mouth was nearly all the way closed with black nastiness. I found that the carb cleaner worked wonders in combination with a toothbrush (maybe not your day to day one ). Basically scraped the major bits off the EGR with a small screwdriver and then soaked it in cleaner. Sparkling clean!

Wondering if there is a benefit to taking the entire intake apart to give it a good clean, but as this is my daily runner this may not be a good idea... Anybody done this yet?
