Default Front fog lights in good weather

Following on from the thread about handbrakes and high level brake lights, how many people get fed up with the cowboys that insist on driving everywhere on sidelights and front fogs, or dip beam plus front fogs, in perfectly good visibility. Seen several tonight, on a late night shopping run.
Funny, saw a police programmlast night where they stopped a bloke for it, he insisted they were spot lights wired to his fog light switch. An officer attending told him the clue to when they should be used is in the name, FOG lights
    Does it irritate anyone else?

It's considered poor driving to use the fog lights when there's no fog. I've only used them about 3 times over the last 4 years in this car during extremely thick fog - what difference they made in those conditions I don't know. Very little I guess.
But why worry about what some halfwit is doing with his bulbs?
I don't care what people do with their fog lights to be honest.
Only thing that is gets me is the people who use full-beam and don't bother to dip for oncoming traffic. That never gets mentioned on here, and for me - that is much worse than front fog lights.

I've seen 3 groups doing it, old people like the one on TV, younger drivers who think it' looks "cool", and bmw's etc. Not sure if any of the newer ones are wired for driving lights, like the Volvo's, but the ones I've seen have definitely been dip/side and fogs. Pain in the butt at night for the extra dazzle. The one I saw tonight I thought was on main beam.

People running with their fogs on don't really bother me. Although they are usually just using them to let people about them know that they arent driving the poverty spec model of their car, which is a bit sad

Round my way it is the boy racers and the idiots who switch them on in March but forget about them that do it.

Still it is nowhere near as annoying as rear fog's in clear weather even in fog when a car can be seen behind in your mirror's, please leave them off as he can see you!

I admit when people switch on fogs in front of me in reasonable visibility I have used main beam in reply
