Fellow facelifters. How did you fit the bonnet rod to the old setup?

    Cheers

They warp the bonnet apparently because the facelift bonnets are so thin that's why they don't have them.

people say that you can bend the facelift bonnet with the gas strut. I can't see it happening tbh but i was just going to take their advise

No experience of it myself either, just repeating what's been said on here before. I've always preferred the look of the pre-face anyway and with the extra gadgets the pre-face has over the facelift (conversions aside), I'm sticking with pre-face lol

U need to grind off the nipple on the mounting that holds your old bonnet strut and then drill a hole into the mounting for the black plastic clip that secures the bottom of the bonnet stay

as above... If you feel the weight difference between the preface bonnet and facelift you'll appreciate how much less there is of it weight wise...

Mine is going away for its spray job tomorrow so i decided i had better try and fit the bonnet stay and fuel up tonight.

It was funny seeing other drivers rubber necking when stopped at the lights at the lights.

Everyone i speak to thinks i have smashed it and thats why its all different colours. when you tell them your putting an new front on for fun they think i'm mad.
