a few faults need some advice please

right ive just got a vec c 2.0 t sxi 46,000 on a 53 plate and got a few problems with it,

9-3 wheel play slight knock

lumpy start up sounds like something is loose and vibrating

squeaking noise down near the aux belt when started up

when pulling away from a roundabout in 2ND gear at low rpm engine rattles and vibrates as if it was going to stall.

front end quite hard a bangs when going over a rough road surface.

any help or advice would be great thanks.lee

Get under the front end and check all the bushes and bearings ... clunking when driving over a lousy surface certainly sounds like there might be some worn out rubbers under there.

Bad when pulling away in 2nd ..... then pull away in 1st

9-3 wheel play .... which wheel ... steering ? front's ? rears ? some ? all ? just one ? which one ?

Squealing aux belt ... check condition of the belt and pulleys (as best you can).... good chance the belt is on it's last legs.

Lumpy after starting .... what state is your engine oil in ? Turbos need oil in decent condition. Consider something like ZX-1 to protect the engine/bearings while the oil's starting to circulate.

9-3 wheel play drivers side front!

Bad when pulling away in 2ND when its just come from 3rd like when you slow down then hit the gas again.

oil is clear as its just been serviced, it sounds lumpy starting it up not when its running as it runs fine with all the power there. cheers.

Being a 53 plate, they also had a problem with the Aux belt pulley wheel breaking.
The very bottom one from looking down into the engine. If on there way out they do make strange noises and cause rough tick over.
Do a search on here, there is loads about it.
I know been there done that repair.
Could find the info on the top thread of this page 2.2dti owners.
