Default Just Bought 1.9CDTI 150 and Hearing Horror Stories

Just bought my 1.9CDTI 150 C. Hearing horror stories about DMF. Probably didn't help that mine let go after 500 yards of picking it up. Also having problems with the front end. tends to wander especially in the rain. Has 215's on it. Really like the car but could do with some reassurance that the C is not a pup as my B was a really good car.

I've had two and had no major problems , front end could just be down to cheap tyres ?? DMF will be fixed by the garage

If you are really worried get a Vauxhall warranty ? You can pick them up for £350 to £450 if you shop around and worth evey penny in my eyes

Ps you'll only read the horror stories, not normally all the people happy with their cars ;-)

On the DMF thing. The clutch and flywheel were replaced. However when resting my foot on clutch pedal before engaging you feel vibration and motion through the pedal. is this a characterisitc? or has the new unit been installed badly? Front tyres are Goodyears still lots of tread although tracking is slightly out. Just wondering if this is enough for the car to feel so unstable? Am taking back to garage Saturday but my feeling is they will say all is ok. Not being an expert but have been driving for 20+ years I do feel i know what these things should feel like. Anyone had similar issues that have been resolved?

Theres good and bad in every line of cars... but IMO the good outweighs the bad with the Vec... It still puts a smile on my face when I put my foot down

go on any car forum (BMW/Merc/ VW/Ford, and you will read the same horror stories thousands of people do not have any major problems with the Vec-C, the problem with forums is you tend to only hear of the cars with faults, you have a very good car, the front end wander could be tyre pressures, did you check them?

Tracking being out does indeed make the Vec wander - if it gets out quite a bit, it starts dancing all over the road.

Book is a little unclear. At the moment they are at 33 in the fronts although book did say as high as 35 fully loaded. Is this correct? also what mileage for cam belt. Current miles on mine is 47K. has full vaux service history.

Cam belt is at around 75k - 80k I think.

My car has 77k on the clock and has just had a new cam belt.
