    Default Quaife LSD in GSi

So my local Opel car club has a group buy on Quaife LSD's and was wondering if anyone with a GSi has one installed.

Now I know the saab 9-3 had the same Gearbox as the GSi, the F35. However the Quaife product catalogue doesn't mention the Opel/Vauxhall/Holden vectra C 3.2 as compatable, even though, as above its the same gearbox as the Saab 9-3.

Any info will be much appreciated.

(I know it fits the smaller capacity petrol and Oilers, they however have a different gearbox, as with the VXR)

Why does the GSi get left out of any tuning options!?

I dont really see the point in an lsd diff on a fwd car, its not like your going drifting in it. i vote save your money and spend it on power tuning

won't help straight line atall unless your on shale

but in bends should help i believe

but is investment worth it? probably better to upgrade suspension then wait for powerflex to issue their long awaited bushes

After driving a FWD Astra SRI-T with the quaife LSD I fell in love with it. I've uprated all my suspension but want more from it for track days.

Mate. If tuning was available here, I would be on top of it. Literally no one in Aus tunes these. The only option is to pay $1,200 for a 12 KW increase in power, which just isn't worth it and would require me sending my ECU to Germany.

I've been waiting for powerflex bushes for 3 years. They won't bother now its out of the current model line up.

Limited slip differential.See here for an explanation.

Other cars that i've driven with an LSD can corner at ridiculous speeds. Got to experience to truely appreciate it. I just thought with some of the Oilers on here having an LSD fitter, some of the GSi's may have. Seems not.

Basic tuning and mechanical tuning you can get out there. You dont need to remap the ecu as on a n/a car, it wont make much of a difference. Try upgrading the intake with k&n panel and derestricting the airbox and upgrading your exhaust. Ebay sell plenty of exhausts if you cant find a custom manufacturer. If you got money to burn then you could get someone to play with the internals and try upgrade them. Also see if you can find a rolling road/dyno tuners, they should be able to do a live remap

    Already have a Apollo intake.

Exhaust is next on the agenda once I get my tax back. Internals are hard to come buy, and expensive, more than an LSD. Been to 4 tuners in my state. None want to touch the car.

If youv got a bit of power under the bonnet a LSD does make a difference on a front wheel drive car. Certainly getting the power onto the road is far easier as your not spinning up the inside wheel all the time, helps the car dig in and go a bit better (depending on the power running it wont eradicate the wheel spin issue entirely but it certainly helps). Same goes for cornering car digs in a lot better than a car with an open diff.
