    Default 1.9 CDTI 120bhp Hesitating

    howdy chaps.

My 06 120hp cdti is randomley being an ass. When maintaining a steady speed (this can be 30mph or 80, doesnt matter) and then putting your foot down, the car hesitates momentarily, splutters a bit then takes off. It is only ocasional and the rest of the time its a dream, full of power with no problem. I have no eml light and after a plug in no codes were found. Anyone any ideas?

I, among others, am currently experiencing similar problems (see my thread entitled "Hesitation whilst driving").

I own a 1.9 CDTi 150 (But maybe not for much longer - I might get rid of it as it's costing too much money to keep running. Don't get me wrong, it's a lovely powerful engine but mine has this problem and I've already paid a small fortune out on it this year already without this problem).

    Suggestions range from:-

EGR valve needs cleaning (I only had a new one earlier this year)
Throttle body needs cleaning (Plan to do this early next week when I get the gasket)
Boost pressure sensor needs cleaning (Already done last week)
Vacuum boost pipes perished / split (Replaced last week with 4mm silicone tube)
    Throttle position sensor (Rare occurance)
HP Fuel Pump on it's way out
Fuel filter clogged up (Getting changed tomorrow)

Apparently it could also be rattly Dual Mass Flywheel (seem to recall reading in another post).

Someone did also mention about the 3rd injector wiring connector getting corroded or something causing an occasional misfire (Vx apparently have a modified set of injector plugs)

I'm in the same situation......... keep throwing money at the blooming thing but still not sorted it yet.

I replaced my EGR a couple of weeks ago and have read on here that it may be something to do with new version of EGR valve. From what I understand it may be possible to get Vx to upgrade the ECU software to manage the misfirng caused by new EGR. Will be booking my car in, in a couple weeks and see if they can upgrade the software (providing its not been done already),

First things first though would be to clean out the EGR and Boost sensor (How-To's can be found on here for these)

Best of luck to you both and hope you manage to get it sorted

    Alternator,
Drilled/Grooved Discs & Pads, Eibach Springs, EGR Valve, 50W HID's 6000k, K&N Panel Filter, LED footwell & boot lights

Have just spotted this comment on another thread which may be of use...

"I found what was generating the P1125 Throttle position sensor error and engine stall/cut out or short power loss on my car. It was a cracked solder joint on the PCB inside the throttle body, on one of the connector pins. This caused the valve to close temporarily. I drove 100 miles now without problems. Took some pictures that I will post when I get home. Easy to fix if you have a solder iron." (User - Andreitone)

I'm going to check this when I give the throttle body a clean out early next week.

Here is a link to the thread the comment is from:- http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showth...37#post1337237

HTH because, if it helps you and others, it helps me!

Thanks for your suggestions peeps, should have pointed out that i have already cleaned the boost/map/egr etc.. as suggested and how2'd on here. Helped in lots of other ways, but didnt cure this problem. Those field remedies are interesting though. What do you think the chances are of me getting VX to do it for nowt?!

Try quoting the FR as its a known issue.
They may try to get out of it as you should get the software updated at every service with Vx if there is an update available.
My local dealer charges £60 for a software update.
If you can find an independent garage that has paid for the link to Vx then they may be cheaper
