Default Calling All 10k Boost Users...

I am going to use 10k boost on my 54 plate 1.9 CDTI 150 vectra.

Can anyone advise on what route the 10k boost takes through the system and their own results after using it and if on it's route, the 10k boost would actually clean out the throttle body for me to save me cleaning it?

Pipe from the air filter, through the turbo, inlet manifold and throttle body then into the block I think. I've used it before but not in a Vectra, Shogun Sport with a 2.5TD and it worked wonders.

It will have to go past the throttle body yes, but nothing beats getting it out and scrubbing it with a brush and some carb cleaner

    Thanks for that.

I think it's a case of, once I've got the fuel filter changed tomorrow, remove and clean the throttle body and then run through the 10k boost.

Further comments / results after use will still be appreciated. I've never used anything like this before.

Thing I worry about is where does all the crud go when it leaves the inlet ?

I used it some months ago as the CDTI 150 had some serious performance issues under 2k rpm.

When I used it, I had plumes of smoke (white/clear'ish) pouring out of the exhaust. I figured this would have done it no harm.

Drove it shortly after and it seemed more responsive but my problem was down to my EGR being knackered.

I would use again and have contemplated using it on my B DTI but at £20.00 a go, its quite steep.

I seen another thread on here in the last couple of days to use the Wynns EGR3 stuff at £6.00 a bottle so may give that a try.

Just spray into the air pipe AFTER the MAF and follow the instructions in the HOW2 and you wont go wrong.

Its definately worth a go at least once, but as said, maybe my one was worse. Other members have seen different results.

    Bye bye Vec B

I had cleaned my EGR and boost sensor a few months ago (thankfully wasnt that caked up) but thought i'd give the 10k boost ago to make sure everything was clear. My system must have been very clear as I didn't get any smoke what so ever. It feel a bit more responsive at lower-res but nothing massive. This could be because my system was pretty clean to start with. May do it again in a years time as maintenance.

Excatly what I plan on doing, but im going to give the Wynns EGR stuff a whizz aswell, although thats probably only carb cleaner....but ant do not damage.

I wish I had taken pictures of the smoke, you literally could not see further than the back of the car as there was just CLOUDS AND CLOUDS of white smoke!!

So all the crud should exist via the exhaust? Not back into the engine itself?
