Default paint defects on 53 plate

    Hi there,

i have a 53 plate in Oyster Silver - had her 3 weeks now, and whilst doing the Meguiars 3 stage I noticed some paint defects on the bonnet. i tried rubbing them out with no joy. It looks like the top coat has started to crack - all along the top of the windscreen and up the NSF of the bonnet, where the line is.

As the car was in getting the radio sorted anyway, I asked the Vx dealer about it and he recommomened that I use a more aggressive cutting compound on it - which I'm a bit reluctant to do.

Has anyone else had any similar problems?

(sorry no pics but I'm in work, I'll try to upload some later, bt it's hard to see unless you get the light and angle right)

Could it be bird lime marks? It's an acid and does eat into paint. Got any pics?
Modern Fords are normaly worst effected by this, whole roofs and bonnets having to be refinished just by 1 little piece of tweety cr*p.

You can remove bird dropping very very easily without repainting a whole bonnet or roof.
