i'm watching this with intrest m8, i'm sure i read volume of air on a dti doesnt make a difference
I got one on mine, its like having a k&n panel filter with the airbox mod. i cant say its made a big difference but has a little
no real benifit, do you want to clean you air filter regularly ? best air filter is a clean on and if your going to replace your paper one every 6 months or so your probably going to be well ahead of anyone with an induction kit as lets be honest they get fitted they look pretty and never get cleaned.
I found that on the 2.0 DTI in my Vectra B, when I has a big cone filter fitted, I could tune up the tuning box more without the ECU throwing a fit. Tests on my CDTI showed that higher flow filters did help with power and torque. If you have a cone/mushroom which is not enclosed though, the warm air will hurt fuel ecconomy and may not see any gains in power or torque. I tried OEM paper panel filter, pipercross foam panel filter, K&N cotton panel filter, ripspeed cone filters metal and cotton, ripspeed foam mushrooms (two back to back for more surface area) and even running on the rollers with no filter. End result was a K&N cotton pannel filter with a second cold air feed into the bottom of the box and the trumpet removed from the top.
Mmmm thats interesting, I wonder if my standard air box is strangling the car with the tuning box on
cheers for the feedback guys. What about sound? any different?
