    Default Front end wobble

    afternoon people

I have been experiencing some front end wobble in my 2004 vectra 2.2direct sri, i have had all the wheels rebalanced to eliminate that one, below 40mph cars is fine soon as i go over 40mph with the accelerator down i get the wobble if i release the accelerator then the wobbling stops? i have been told this could be caused by a bent driveshaft or the inner cv joint is on its way out. Does anyone have any knowledge on this or had the same problem, also does anyone know which drive shaft the 2004 2.2sri has as i been looking on ebay and there seems to be a few for the 2.2 vec c's phoned my local vx up earlier for a price on a brand new drive shaft and they said it was £500+ so i will not be getting one from there lol.

any comments will be much appreciated.

    Chris

Definatly sounds like a knackered drive shaft, worth sourcing one from scrappy

does anyone know which one of the belows would fit my 2004 vec 2.2sri direct if that makes any difference

    (1)would it be this one?

    (2) or this one?
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VAUXHALL-VECTR...item2c55e0ad1a

    (3) or this one?

    evening all

Just wondering if anyone can help with the above as i am looking to get another drive shaft soon as but aint sure which one will fit my car.

would the wobbling be mainly down to o/s drive shaft or both? and also are they easy to change?

Best person to ask would be rushy, I know that the 2.2directs had a 6 speed box so not sure if the drive shafts were different. Only difference with the last one is that it comes with the extra support bearing thats on the drivers side

Hi Chris! its Craig [omega63] yer!!! sounds the same as mine and i am pretty sure without a doubt its the inner CV joints. When i worked as a techniction for Vauxhall there was many recall and rework notices for the vectra c in one month i replaced under warranty 5 sets of complete driveshafts on vectra c,s. Mines a 3L V6 CDTI and i,ve and i have been quoted £400 each driveshaft, i,ve been told that on mine the inner CV joints are the same as the 1.9 CDTI, sorry cant help you with yours but as like mine you maybe able to match up with another vectra c.......

nice one for the reply craig, yeah i got quoted £550 from vx for a new o/s drive shaft so thought i would by second hand just unsure as to which drive shaft is for mine, im gonna do my track rod ends and anti roll bars first as i believe these are an easy job to do myself if im not mistaken.

i had had a quick look on the net but cant seem to find anywhere selling the inner cv joint? does anyone know where i can get one from as vx wanted £110 for it.
