Default 3.2 Vectra - K&N, Yes Or No?

Right.....toying with the idea of either putting a K&N panel filter in or putting a full induction kit on. Or nothing at all.....

    Whats your thoughts?

I stuck an open cone filter on my 3.2. Sounded great and never noticed any heat soak. best bit was it was only £20 iirc.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Went for the Enclosed K&N Apollo Pod filter.

As it gets so hot here, really needed to minimise heat soak. And being over cautious is better intake wise.

Plus it sounds like a V8

Also depends if you want more sound - they sound much better with a cone filter etc on. They sound crap with the standard air box on. Or more power, if you want power then it's a panel filter in the standard air box but do the air box mod as well.

Sorry mate should have mentioned my question was completely off topic.

Your results must be 100% at the engine right?

It's amazing how much HP you lose through transmission.

    On topic.

I didn't notice any loss in power, or overall gain from the Apollo, but throttle response was better and the sound is excellent.

From my side of the world. The only way to get more power out of the Z32SE is extractors, which have to be custom made and a free flowing exhaust.

here we go again - another one.........

the point I was trying to make is......

I run no filter other than std and I make 10bhp over std.

at the wheels or at the engine, is irrevalant, because the base figure of 208bhp is taken at the engine.

if the base figure quoted was taken from the wheels then I would, of course, quote a 'from the wheel' figure.

I'm glad that you have gleamed one piece of knowledge from your engine, but asking me where the figure is from is obvious.....

can you see my point, I bet not......
