screaming noise when i put foot down!!

bought a vectra off ebay off a sound guy but i didnt test drive it, so when i drove it off it whisled and wooshed no lag but bit of black smoke pulled really well on motorway so wonder what this noise??

What engine is it? Possibly an air leak although the Vec's do make a nice turbo noise when coming onto boost

Looking at your profile it's a CDTI - and I assume 150? The turbo noise is normal from 1,500rpm on wards to about 2,500rpm. Is there lots of black smoke?

Brave man (or should that be foolish?) for not test driving a car prior to parting with your wonga.

Before you panic just check basics is there a clean air filter, check intercooler pipe not split,check other air hoses around the turbo.

And then give yourself a right good head slap for not driving it.

probably just air getting sucked in the intake as your accelerate, I'd say its normal. Mine wooshes and whistles and you put your foot down and so did the 3 new Astra H CDTi's I had as company cars a few years back. I actually really like the sound.

Its the 120cdti i have 3 of them and only this one makes the swooosh noise hardly any smoke in the daylight but in the night u can see the smoke.

and its hard to start in the morning i have to jump it off another car and it still takes a few turns to fire. then its fine all day.

where abouts in leeds are you mate i could come have a look if ya want? sounds like a intercooler hose either split or loose, but could also be head gasket (not the noise) but the smoke and struggling to start
