    Default Headlight Adjustment

    Just a quick question folks,

After fitting HID's they seem to be rather low. Been reading how to get them aligined etc, but one bit passes me...

Most say, park next to a wall/garage door 9ft and 25ft seem to be the quoted distances etc, then alter so they align using the allen key.

What puzzles me is how do you know they are aiming at the right height?

If i have the car at 25ft from a wall, what height from the ground should the dipped beams be at? and how car apart?

Or... do i just take it to my local garage, pay the £10 which seems to be the going rate and have them done properly!

    Cheers
    Aidi

LOL. Yep, i think its the way forward! Just wanted to see if was just being dumb! Need to get the wheel alignment checked after new shocks and springs, so might as well get this done at the same time.

Nah not being dumb it can be difficult to get them right but not blind oncoming cars especially with Xenon's as they are incredibly bright

Think the overall consensus is that they are all aimed a bit low

Have been looking into raising mine as well. As you say the light cut off is rather low

Got the inspiration from Duncans post here:-

    http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=33655/

But as of yet not had the opportunity to get out and get them adjusted plus also not sure which adjuster tilts the lenses up & down (think i've labeled the pic correctly)

Looking forward to also being able to see properly at night with my HIDs

    Best of luck with it

I read the post by Duncan, and gave it an attempt. But, i am now thinking that i might not have the bulbs located correctly. Whith the lights on, both dipped beams seem to be very bright just a few feet in front of the car... as if they are fogs.

With hindsight, i should have marked on a wall the output of the original bulbs, then brought the new hids to the same level.

I think ill check the HIDs are in the housing correctly before i continue further.
