Default Nights are getting darker, going HID

Well, after reading a thread earlier, I have splashed out for a HID kit as recomended. Have had Nitebreakers in there for the last year, so they are probably due to go anyway, and well lets face it , they aint up to the job.
So any hints, or help to make the job easier, to avoid errors coming up, where to secure the gubbins etc?

Well Friday night was the first time ive been out in darkness since I fitted mine and even driving round the town it was unbelievable how much of a difference it is, cant wait to see what there are like with no street lighting around. They are so good if I turn my front fogs on, you cant even tell the fogs are on.

I bought mine from Blues n Twos but I think they are the HIDS direct 35w kit, the ones with the slim ballasts. As for the install, yea very easy. The hardest part was getting the clip that holds the normal bulbs into position on the new bulbs, I had to cut the factory spade connectors off and reconnect new ones, a 30 second job, but honestly it was that easy. After doing it once I recon I could do it again in less than 20 minutes, and that includes the time to take the air filter box out.

I fitted the 35w 6k kit from hids direct and there excellent.

What kit did u go for as they usually come with cancellors?

I fitted my kit as below but i dont know whether yours will be much different as yours is probably a facelift.

I have the HID-direct ones in 50W 6000K version, they are spot on and make my night driving ability on a par with my old Xenon equipped Saab

There is a recess underneath the headlights on the facelift where you can mount the ballasts.

I have the 50w 4300k kit, and it's superb. Had to reprogram the UEC with my vauxcom to tell it xenons were fitted though, as the bulb light in the dash came on sometimes.

The standard Vectra lights are shocking! Crap to the point of being dangerous IMO, I had to put my fogs on, not because I'm a chav but because I couldn't see where I was going.

I ordered the 35w kit from HID direct, just waiting for them to come now so I can scratch my head at the instructions! I take it that you have to remove the airbox? no big deal then? and wheres the recess? what do you secure the boxes with adhesive velcro? cable ties? drill the bodywork for self tappers?
