    Default Bye Bye Insignia

Well after a varied ownership period with the Insignia she leaves my ownership on Monday. I'm getting a new Mondeo instead.

Its certainly been a mixed experience and my holiday to France with it when it broke down was the last straw.... so I

Anyway I'm selling off some bits, namely the alloys & tyres I bought a couple of months ago, the DVD800 upgrade disk (2009/2010) and the VXR indicator surrounds I never got round to fitting.. There is the parts for sale section if anyones interested.

Thanks for the warm welcome here all and I'm sure its just me who got the lemon

Sorry to hear the Insigna gave you grief, but as to you who got the lemon, let me tell you, your not alone. I know people in the Vauxhall dealership network and their comments on Insigna reliabilty and warranty claims so far are not pretty ones. Maybe in a couple of years when the bugs are ironed out and the facelift Insigna released things might be better. Touch of de ja vu???

I hate Mondeos. I had one and it was an unmitigated disaster.

I have them frequently on rent I now always try to get an Insignia or Passat as the Ford is nice, no mistake, but it feels like an Aircraft carrier compared to the Vectra and so impersonal compared to the Insignia. However, we are all individuals and one mans meat is anothers poison.

I wish you every happiness with the Ford and my condolences for the hardship with the Insignia

    Hi Matt

On the last day of my holiday in France the car started to hesitate and lost power. Fortunatly we were only a couple of KM's away from where we were staying and managed to get back there, but it was a struggled. Ended up putting the autobox into manual mode to keep the revs up as it had trouble getting up hills on the way back.

Anyway long story short it turned out to be a fuel sensor that went faulty - so nothing major but the car puts itself into limp mode to protect itself.

I had filled the car up with Supermarket fuel from the local intermarche... so that may have been the cause... still caused a major problem getting home and going back to collect it.
