Default Brake lines - do they need to be declared?

    Evening all.

Discovered that 3 out of 4 brake lines are weeping. I can get a set of HEL brake lines for the Vectra C for the same price as the Vauxhall ones. If I went for the HEL ones, are brake lines something that need to be declared? Seen as they're not really a modification.

If they are i'll just get the Vauxhall ones, at least they won't bump up the price!

This is true. Was just wondering with them being marketed as 'performance brake lines'.

Best thing to do is ring and ask. At least that way you will get a correct answer from them and no unpleasant surprises if the worst happens.

What you'll actually get is some numpty on the phone who has no idea what "brake lines" are, so flicks through the list of modifications on his/her drop-down list and will select "performance brake discs/pads" as the closest match.

I'll ring them up on Monday and make sure they know they are not brakes themselves, they are bits of piping. If they don't have an option for that on the computers I'll speak to someone higher up.

    Exactly.

Made worse by me being 18, so I'm already more of a risk, apparently.
