No need to, you will hear it if your pads are near the way out

Well, someone told me that the pads have some materials added in the bottom of the friction pad, and when these materials hit the disc it will make a loud zi~ noise. I think shouldn't been removed isn't it?

Are the discs also in need of replacing? Mine's on 150K with the original discs all round.

The rear brake pads never had a warning light - it was only on the front left inner pad.

Rear pistons need winding back in - not just pushing in.

Rear pads should be around £20 for a decent set. They are available from all good motors spares factors, just get a decent make. eg Ferodo, Mintex, EPC etc. if the dealer price isn't competitive.
