thermostat or thermostat kit?

Hi

I need to replace the thermostat on my 1.8 Vectra C.

I can buy either a thermostat or a thermostat kit.

What's the difference and which do I need?

You most probably won't need the kit. The kit contains the cover aswell.

The thermostat is easy to change, just undo the 3 bolts that secure the cover, pull the cover off and release the thermostat by pushing and turning the securing plate. Refitting is reverse of removal, but use a new cover sealing ring.

There is no need to even remove the pipe connnections to the cover.

Then refill the coolant.
