Default Buying Cheap Cars To Sell On.

Hi all, i'm toying with the idea of buying a few older cars to do up and sell on at a small profit if poss. Me and my father will be doing it together as he has a good basic mechanical knowledge and is retired so plenty of time and I have the funds, just wondering what sort of cars you think would be best to start of with? Small fiesta size, Focus size, Vectra size etc and if so what seems to be fetching decent money these days? I dont have an endless pot of money so will be starting with a small budget maybe upto £1000. All help and suggestions welcome.

    Cheers

    Howard

Small cars that parents come and buy for their 17-18 year olds - stick to the popular stuff though.

Be cautious when dealing with the general public is my advice.

Small amounts of profit soon get eaten up with problems or complaints.

Its all good when its good, but when it goes wrong you need to have enough funds to deal with it..

Unless you want to be a bandit and just do a runner?

    corsa`s corsa`s and corsa`s

you need to look at bread and butter motoring not what you like or want in a motor, requirements will be passes and mot and goes.

also be aware that if you start to sell cars from your private address you will be targetted by the local council and tax man as a business
iirc there is a limit of how many cars you can sell "privately" before it becomes classisfied as a business/ trader

as said, ford KA's, Fiestas, Corsa's and anything 17 year olds that have just passed want.

My missus has just bought a KA for £900, the few we looked at for the same money were a right mess - this one however is A1. All she wanted in a first car was a clean example with tax & MOT. If you can be picky about body and paintwork, and can fix anything mechanical then you're laughing!
