Weird indicator/light problem

please help my car has developed a weird problem when i turn ignition on the rear lights come on and stay on, then which ever way i indicate both rear indicators come on and flash faster than normal (as tho bulb has gone but checked all bulbs) but front ones are working as normal (appart from flashing fast) also electronic boot release stopped working. as far as im aware these all happened at the same time. have done a quick check of earth points and connections at rear of car all seem fine.

does anyone has any idea's

does sound very much CIM related or maybe BCM . if you over MK way time in the future I can have a quick look for you

Could it not be the REC?

thanks for the reply, if it was either of these would it show as fault when i connect my laptop? cause it didn't show any faults, (but dont know how reliable the software is bought cheap on ebay) have done some checking found some bloke had similar prob with his saab and suspected REC, is there an easy way to test any of these?
also just noticed when i turn ignition on should say insp on dash but doesn't now???

sounds like a REC problem to me

i had a mate do search for fault codes found quite a few so cleared them all that was left was: U2103 can bus circuit fault, U2141 Cannot connect to REC and P1565 Cruise control malfunction, and we were unable to connect to REC to check for faults. so not sure if fault lies with REC or can bus does anyone have any idea's

In my limited understanding of these systems I thing the Can bus is what connects the REC to the other modules. Take the panel off the passenger side of the boot and check all the plugs are in secure.

ok sorted problem turned out to be the rec, got one off ebay all working fine, thanks everyone for advice

Im having a problem with just the N/S indicators flashing fast although all bulbs on that side are working. Could this be the same problem.
Oh yeah also what is REC???
