    Default signum -alternator belt replacement

    Help - can any body tell me how to replace alternator belt on 2005 signum 20T . and belt route - ie: belt snapped and dropped off.

    I think you need to remove the driver's side wheel arch liner to gain access to it.

    many thanks for your help this is excellent i assume the tensioner is spring loaded

    again thanks as you know you can see nothing from top.

    yes it is spring loaded.. i replaced this belt earlier this year, its tricky one.. you need somebody to push up onthe tensioner from below, then somebody over the top feeding the belt on, if the loop the string around the belt to use to pull it over the pulleys it will save your fingers and your temper.. I believe some guys even managed to do it on their own but not sure if they took the tensioner off first. Inthe side of the tension their is a square hole for using maybe a half inch socket adapter to get some leverage on it (you can see it in the pic).

    btw the belt is otherwise known as the Multi V belt
