    Exclamation Fuel Leak

Hi, hope someone can offer some advice.

I've noticed quite a bad fuel leak comming from a cylinder shaped component located at the rear inner underside of the car, I presume this is the fuel filter. Is this common, I cant exactly establish how or why or where exactly it is leaking.

    Fixes, costs, info?

    Cheers.

Yup that's about where the fuel filter is. When was it last changed? At a guess they normally only leak when they rust to bits. Should be about £6 to replace yourself.

Assuming your car is petrol thats the fuel filter, vauxhall only replace them every 4 years ... for the cost may as well replace yearly ;-)

Cheers guys. It looks pretty coroded to be fair.

Is there any guide on how to change it, could a novice like myself do this? How much would a garage charge?

They have 2 clips that require compressing to release the clips. There is a special tool but others reported that a small screw driver can be used. In all honesty its a ten minute job for a garage.

Normaly yes you can change it, My advice thought take it to a garage, Had almost exactly the same issue with the petrol filter on my Mrs`s corsa when she bought it (private sale) After My several attemps i couldnt get it of and it went to 2 garages that said they couldnt get it off with out breaking the fuel line, took it to a 3rd garage .... they had to break the fuel line to get the old on out and replace the line from the pump to the filter. (cost £30) They advised if it had been replaced more regularly it wouldnt have been hard to simply change.

So as said probably best taking to garage this time and change yourself yearly in the future.
