The throttle body isn't such an issue to clean as it is basically a tube with a butterfly flap in the middle and some petrol / solvent will wipe it clean.

It is once you remove the three 5mm allan bolts and access the fluted section at the nose of the inlet manifold that you can make significant improvments as those channel flutes fill and clog with oil/carbon sludge from the crankcase breather / egr.

This bares out what some of us believe is a significant aid to longevity gained from allowing the crankcase to vent to atmos, as this removes the "glue" from the intake system that sludges up with the carbon from the egr and strangles the engine.

Is the throttle attached to the EGR valve?

No!, The EGR is fitted to the inlet manifold & the Throttle body assembly is also fitted to the inlet manifold, RED SQUARE= EGR, PINK CIRCLE=THROTTLE BODY, YELLOW CIRCLE=BOOST SENSOR.

    Thats true for the 150's.

On the 120's the EGR connects to the throttle valve with a 90degree metal corrugated pipe. The EGR is not connected directly to the inlet manifold. Only the throttle valve is.

The Throttle Valve and the EGR are on the top right corner of the engine on both the 120 and 150.
