    Default Steering wheel vibration/wobble

When i'm driving along, mainly at about 60-65mph the steering wheel vibrates/wobbles about 1-2mm from side to side. I thought it was the balancing out or cheapo tyres i had on.
Changed tyres to michelin(rear) and goodyear(fronts) and rebalanced but still the same. I had new ebc discs and redstuff pads fitted back in end of feb so cant see it being that either.

Anybody suffer the same or know the solution. It hasn't always been like this

I had a similar problem, turned out to be a buckle on one of my alloys. £25 to get the wheel straightend and the problem was gone.

Have you checked the arb bushes, I had a sierra once that had a vibration at speed. New roll bar bushes sorted it.

Failing that check the track rod ends and tie rods for excessive play, although I think that would give you vauge steering rather than a vibration.

Can't think of much else but if it isn't tyres, wheels or brakes it has to be a steering/suspension issue. have you tried swapping wheels front to back?.

was the problem there only after you swapped the wheels round?

Ie have you tried moving your newest ones to back and older ones to front?

this sounds like a balancing issue to me - does it go away when you get to 80?

maybe i'd be wrong but i've had no end of problems with getting goodyear eagles to balance - just seem really sensitive

I'm on michelin primacy now - due to that very problem

Problem has been there, before new tyres, before wheels were swopped, had balancing checked again. Rarely drive at 80 as i dont generally go on motorways.

my eagles were balanced 3 times and still no success.

and yes the garage were good and reputable - not a drive in place.

i've given up with eagles now, just use another brand...
