Default When did you stop playing music loud?

As each year passes so the stereo in the Car gets ever quieter.. Is it just me, or is it the same for everybody else whose edging ever closer towards their 40's. I no longer take pleasure from driving with windows down and 150db's thumping out of 20 quid Argos shelf speakers (like I used to do in the late 80's early 90's) Occasionally nowadays I might wind the volume up a bit, but then if Im approaching a rounadbout or stopped at traffic lights I turn it right down. Anybody else the same?

To cruise along with music belting out for all to hear I would feel foolish and quite emabarrased.. Ah, I guess its just one of many changes you notice in yourself as you approach 40, behaviours you first noticed in your own Dad all them years ago..

i dont mind driving with the windows down, but if the music is loud the windows are up - and im exactly the same, turn it down in traffic. 1. consideration for others, 2. dont want to look a tw4t.

Fair play Rab, enjoy yaself whilst you can (get away with it, lol) .. I know I did, and probably a bit too much at times, haha.. I think it was probably from about age 30 onwards that my car stereos volume knob setting started getting lower and lower, and the windows stayed up more often to keep any sound in, lol..

Yeah, I used to have massive speakers in the boot of my car in my early 20's. Still have the big speaker and haven't fitted it. Keep meaning to but then think, what's the point? I don't even listen to it loud any more.

Also like to listen to more radio 4 than loud music.

Nibblitz I'm exactly the same, gave up the Infinity subs and Alpine V12's years ago. 9 times outta 10 you'll find Radio 5 live on my stereo these days.
