    Default Error Code

    aryt guys

    engine management light come back on just there,hooked up my code reader,expecting it to be error for MAF,but it was another code P0420

    it showed up twice,and one of them had a p @ right hand side of it

    anybody got any ideas on this ?

    Your 'cat' is not operating efficiently.

    It could be that it's near the end of its life. Could be that oxygen sensor is bad.

    What engine you got?

    Could it also be an air leak that is making it do this?
    Now I need a turbo to keep up!

    Would you notice the difference

    I guess it depends how big the leak may or may not be.
    Now I need a turbo to keep up!

    Funny you should say that! I had a drive in an early 'LS' petrol Vectra C just the other day. I said to the owner that it wasn't really that bad for a 1.8. "It's a 2.2!" he retorted. LOL

    Indeed. Trouble with all this new fangled electronic wizardry is that engines are now able to compensate on their own for such things.

    Start with the simple things. Check every hose for a leak, then clean the MAF. Then look at the sensor and the Cat imo.

    i drove a 2.2 - hated it. It used more fuel than my current 3.0 flat 6
    Now I need a turbo to keep up!
