    Default Z20net turbo prices

If its deemed that my turbo needs replacing / reconditioning whats the best way to go about it and prices to expect.
Have been told to upgrade to the bigger turbo from the 210bhp Saab aero.
Is this possible, would the bolt on unit gain any bhp straight away or is it a waste of time.
Just some ideas as if the turbo needs replacing then it might be worth upgrading for future re-maps etc.

you can bolt on the bigger turbo which is a mitsubishi TD04HL14T (£700 ish) but you will need a map for your car to work with it (£550 ish). However you would also need bigger injectors to go with it, these are not all that expensive but the turbo is. Maptun have maps for this setup and you will love the boost and the 265bhp (3inch downpipe and sportcat at £500 needed as well for these figures).

If you have any questions feel free to ask or PM me. Its any area that I am currently doing something

Wish I had that sort of cash mate but it looks like i will have to just go for a recon unit.
Wouldnt the larger turbo work with a re-map that i was thinking of geting with the original turbo?

no it wont - as the the remap your currently looking at is designed for the low pressure Turbo and not the High pressure unit that Nige is working towards .... - it will fit and then produce the incorrect amounts of boost as the map is not tailored for it ..... i know as Nige is playing with my old Mitsubishi TD04 unit that i attempted to retrofit - but the old Girl wasnt up for the battle so i refitted my old unit having had it repaired and the new turbo has only been round the block once

Hopefully you get it going soon Nige as i for one am very interested in the results. Will maptun provide the downpipe to work on our exhaust system or will we need a full system from them to the correct output? That reminds me, i will need to check what turbo is on my car, more than likely it will be the garret due to mine being 06

i hope to have this project finished by the mid to end of October, I had hoped to have it ready by now but family priorites must always come first. I ended up opting for even more power than my original plan. Lots of phone calls and emails later and the plan is coming together. I will do a thread on the specifics once it completed, I don't want to count my chickens etc..

What price will you be looking for it?
How many miles has the turbo done.
Also I thought the facelift 2.0t used a different turbo?
