    Default Car with Spanner Warning

I apologise if im posting this wrong but ive only had my signum 3 days and i have a warning light.

When its cold and i turn on the ignition i get a car with a spanner through it come on, then when i start it, its a little rough and exhaust is a bit smokey. After about ten seconds after setting of its fine, the light goes out and its smooth again.

Been told the fuel filter but i was wondering if anyone has had the same problem

    Thanks
    Dan

you need to have the code read then someone on here will be able to point you in the right direction, can't see it being the fuel filter to be honest but until you have a DTC its just guess work!!

I've had the glow plug problem but the car/spanner stayed lit up for about a mile or so of driving, and there was no smoke. Having said that, 3 out of 4 of my plugs were knackered so that may explain the light staying lit for longer. But it really is guess work without a code!!

    yes try the pedal trick.

But it did not work on my 56 plate, i think it only works on the older vectras, ie.non-canbus.

Or try a backstreet garage, or buy a code reader or similar

Try yell.com for a local diagnostics firm, they usually cost around £30ish or get a fault code reader off ebay
