Default Insignia engine advise? (new car time)

Time for the vectra to go as the inlet is chucking faults up and need few other things doing now it's at 83k .

Thing is I'm thing of keeping the cdti engine. What one is more realiable the 130 or 160? I'm also thinking of going to the auto box? Is this a realiable/ nice box? My father inlay has a golf with a dsg box and I love that car.

The 160ps (A20DTH) engine & the 130ps (A20DTJ up to MY 11 / A20DT from MY 11) are the same engine hardware, the ECU & the turbo type determine the power output, I think the A20DTH & A20DTJ has a variable geom turbo, it's fixed in the A20DT. Reliability should be similar in all but perhaps the 'old' A20DT is best because of the lower output.

The auto box is the AF40 type, this is a strong unit and been used for a long time in GM products - will hurt the economy though!

As I CDTI has said, reliability wise they are pretty much on par with each other. If I was ordering an Insignia Id opt for the 160ps engine, just has that extra bit of oomph over the 130ps and makes it a nicer car to drive imo.

It's the daft shape of the boot that puts me off the insignia it's shapped similar to that of the astra which was of no use for the likes of white goods which needed to be carried, Were the veccy is a fantastic boot can't knock the load space.

After the veccy replace it with another veccy.
