    my vectra which is 2003 2.0d wont go into any gears when started but will go into gears when the cars turned of what could it be is it the clutch, i just bought the car a week ago

    yep, sound like a dud clutch unfortunalty

    Can you see any leaks under the car? What is the clutch pedal doing? Have you made sure the thing is topped up with brake fluid? As yhe clutch runs off the same resivour if not the gearbox is gonna have to come out Whilst the gearbox is out I'd replace everything for peace of mind bud the clutch slave cylinder and the dmf if it has one save you money in the long run
