    Default z20net compresion test figures

    I have a compression tester and want to know What figures are normal to expect?

    do you have a problem with your engine ..?.....is the guage in psi or bar ? ...

    Just do the test and write down the figures and post them for me to have a butchers at. It should be obvious as you do each cylinder if there's a problem but make sure you take all the plugs out rather than one at a time as it can be misleading doing it one at a time. I'd expect to see the gauge go to at least 12 bar (170 ish psi).

    Before I do the test Is this the correct way to do it.
    Spark plug out, tester in, coil lead disconnected, foot throttle then turn over.

    not test fig given by vx ...but they say the max difference between cylinders should not exceed 100kpa ..1bar ....14psi .... what fault do you have in the engine ?

    Smoking when decelerating which Is smelling oily and also entering the cabin at low speeds.

    Been told if the turbo is knackered then it will smoke all the time?

    Anyway, im gonna do the compression test this morning so that should give a bit more of an idea whats wrong.
    Fingers crossed it is the turbo and not the rings or valves etc!
