    Default Bridgestone RE050A just 10k

    Hi All..
Have a 56 plate 1.9 cdti (150) design estate, put four new 225/45 R17 Bridgestone RE050A tyres on just after xmas, only done 10K on them and the fronts are nearly shot, and the backs are showing signs of wear... Mixed driving.. IE: 50% school run, 50% motorway..

Has anyone else had such a short life span out of these's, or is it just the wife's driving???

What tyre will give me a long (high mileage) lifespan??

    many thanks
    steve

Yea i've had over 40k out of a set of Michelin Energy's on my last car, that included switching them front to rear too though.
10k doesn't seem very much though, but i guess its all down to the way you drive.

TBH, i had these and the 40's on the wifes 3 series, and they chewed them up, only lasted around 9-10K. we then changed to Avon Zv5's and didnt notice any chnage in performance, noise, or grip. And they were £50 cheaper.
On my 22K vec, I not long ago changed the factory fitted NCt5's as they didnt have long left, circa 2.5-3mm, to Avons again, and found them to be very good for my budget. But if you want mileage i have agree with whats already been said the michelens are prob best for this but then the price reflects this too.
