Default 320BHP and 400 pounds of torque from 2 litre diesel!

Yes, you too can blow away those VXRs! But you'll have to by a VW/AUDI first.

Thats got to really put some strain on the engine! Would be very nice to have though.

The article does suggest that around 300 bhp would only be for racing purposes.

It's also got a Kevlar clutch and is 4 wheel drive, so no problems using the extra torque to good effect. Gear ratios, however, may not be optimal. LOL But VAG cars tend to be geared high anyway. Not sure how much torque the gearbox can take either.

It just shows that it can be done if you have the dosh and you feel the need to do it. Personally, I think that there are much cheaper ways of going very fast without always wondering just how long it will go very fast for.

I guess that we could also add Skoda and Seat to that list of potential 300 bhp 2 litre diesels!

most gearbox's are about 400lbft clutches go at about 300-330lbft.
some beast, saying that i bet the new twin turbo 2.0 cdti 200 thats getting fired into the insignia will be a tunable engine aswell.

Vectra/Insignia F40 gearbox is rated at 295lbft. DMFs go long before clutch gives trouble.

I wouldn't bank on it, and if the gearbox final drive ratio is the one that I think they are using on it (3.89 as opposed to 3.55, 3.35 and 3.09 on the other 2 litre diesels), there wouldn't be much point to tuning it either!

The humble TTid 1.9 in the Saab 9-3 is an utter gem of an engine too, I adored my drive in one
