    Default Noooooooooooo

some a*s* hole has scraped the front bumber of my car earlier on, nice big scratch marks on the near-side corner! with a gouge mark where the bumper has been pressed in and the clip underneath has almost pierced right through the plastic

Front bumper!! - wouldn't mind I parked miles away from everyone in the car park, came back and someone had managed to catch it, prob pulling in or out of the space next to me - why they had to park there is a mystery!!
Just been to VX to get a touch up stick and Halfords for some 1500 wet and dry - prob be able to get away with the scratches and paint flaked bits, but not the part where the clip has pushed almost through as it stands proud to the rest!

I cant figure this one out either. I do the same park miles away from everyone else and you always come back to someone parked right hard next to you, im just going to start taking up 2 spaces and say **** it! Good luck with the repair bud.

Cheers DasArab! - and I know what you mean, I sometimes think ppl do it just to wind you up knowing you parked miles away for a reason!

just read the detailing guide at http://guidetodetailing.com/damage-r...repair-clinic/

What rubbing compound is recommended to get rid of the micro marring the sanding will leave? seen Sonus Restore SFX-1, and 3m fast cut plus mentioned in threads before - guess ppl wouldnt use T-cut after touching up and sanding? - Though I am a Decorator Iv'e never had to touch-up cars, so any advice appreciated!
    Cheers Ste

Might be as well trying to get 2500 and 3000 grit wet and dry to help reduce sanding marks. These rubbing compounds really work best with a machine polisher but ive never had to do that sort of repair so not 100% sure. www.detailingworld.com is your best bet for the likes of this, guys who really know what they are doing will be able to advise you on the best course of action.

I tried all the local car places inc specialists near mine no-one seemed to have higher than 1200 till I went to Halfords who had 1500, I know the surrounding surface will scratch slightly, but the correct compound should get rid of it as it will only be light.
Not got a machine and tbh dont wish to add more surface marks (as would prob happen in the hands of a novice) so it will be by hand, the flaked bits should cover ok, but cant see the raised area looking good even if I sanded the raised plastic a little! thanks for your help. ste

I've had the same problem yesterday - looking for very fine grade wet'n'dry, the local factors only had 1200 and I already knew Halfords only do up to 1500. I've just bought this instead:
