    Default repair cost-ball park figure

hi guys have a facelift 2006 elite which was involved in an accident on tuesday. other parties insurance have admited liability and mine have asked me to get a quote for repairs.

whats the likely bill going to be for supply paint and fit of the following

    drivers side wing
    drivers side headlight
    front bumper and associated grills/foglight

paint will need done on the door as well as the wings pushed back and has nicked the edge of the door.

anyone care to quesstimate what sort of bill the insurance are likely to be looking at(i'm thinking vauxhall/arnold clark bodyshop and genuine parts as a must.

    thoughts pls guys

ouch, on a car with a book price of around 4 grand add a hire car into the equation and this could be nasty

Insist it goes to a VX repair shop, or a small independent and ask them to use genuine VX parts, if you don't it will go to a massive repair chain who will use the cheapest pattern parts they can get their hands on.

TBH cant see much change out of £1200 with genuine VX parts. all easy bolt on but maybe 6 hours in the paint booth.

other parties insurance have admitted liability so i will be insisting on either my local vauxh dealer or preffered local place doing the work with genuine parts through out

still i'm concerned they may just decide to go down the write off route instead

Dealers bodyshop will do an estimate for you for free. If the car is still driveable, maybe take a run over and get thier opinion.

On a £4K car I doubt it tbh. Basic panel damage, no chassis damage, Personally I cant see it.
Ive been unlucky enough to have other cars damaged through no fault of my own and was surprised they weren't written off. Last one was an Accord that a neighbour went down the side off. Front door skin(so thats time consuming to replace), front wing, and bumper all repaired and the car was worth a good bit less than £2K. TBH I think you'll be fine. I would stick to your guns and tell them you want it repaired and your not budging.

I had a £1k audi a4 for a week when some cow arse ended it. It needed a new bumper and was off the road for a month whilst i was driving their hired vectra 54 plate estate (brand new) Bodyshop bill came to £800. Have no idea how much it cost for me to run their car but they never wrote off mine
