Default Vec C SRi Lowering Springs

    Howdie Folks,

Just a quick question. My 06 SRi 2T is standard when it comes to suspension. If i wanted to lower it, apart from the springs is there anything else that i would need to change/replace to complete the job?

Looking on the LMF website, the spring sets lower the front and back by 30mm. From a standard fit, is 30mm all round the way to go, or should i look at more on the front?

Final question, what sort of price should i expect to be charged by a garage to have these fitted?

The springs will only lower an SRi by 15mm mate, its 30mm on stock none sports suspension. While the springs are off its always nice to get some B4's fitted, Euro Car Parts care the cheapest for them, and while your at it do the front drop links.

This is mine with Eibach -30mm springs on an SRi so lowered 15mm as the SRi is already 15mm lower.

Thanks for the picture mate, gives some idea of what i am looking for. What difference do the B4's give? Comfort with the ride, or just a good complement to go with the new springs? I guess i can get the springs and shocks as a package?

The B4's are factory spec shock but are better than are fitted as stock. My 2.2 will sit exactly the same as your 2.0T as they are fitted weight matched springs. My ride is transformed, braking is far better with less ABS, I can get the power down out of corners better without the TC kicking in and it corners so much more flatter with a far more noticeable increase in grip. The ride however doesn't really seam to be affected, as in its not rock hard.

Thanks again mate for your quick reply.

I know a good garage just up the road from me who i am sure will give me a good price for fitting.

If i want to go ahead with this conversion, all i need to order is B4 shocks for all 4 corners and the Eibach Pro-Kit Spings? Oh, and as suggested the drop links.

Just want to be sure 100% sure before i go ahead and order these items

Well, I called LMF Vx today and got a quote for the 4 shocks and the springs. Pretty good price i have to say.. I did try the place Rushy recommeneded but they could only do rears and not fronts.

I just need to make up my mind now!

I also called a local car place about having them fitted. They quoted me £130 to fit them. They did also say it would be advisable to drive the car for a number of miles then return and have the tracking checked and altered accoridingly. I have had tracking done with this place before and the difference afterwards was very noticable, so i know they do a good job.

Does £130 for full fittment sound about right?

All ordered! Should be here next week, ready for fitting on Thursday. Took the advice and ordered drop links at the same time.

I must remember to get some before and after photos!

Next job is get the leather interior that i would like. 2nd hand is proving difficult, re-trim preferable, but nothing in my area unless i want to pay a bomb!!

Cheers for the advice chaps, always appreciated.
