    Default Bonnet release cable.

    Can the bonnet release cable be adjusted ?
    Mine seems to have gone slack and is becoming hit and miss on it opening !


    Have consideration for the deaf, if you're gunna fart, make it smell !

    Mines Completley Gone... The Lever has snapped off and i now have to use pliars to pull the cable to open my bonnet ....

    Yes. There is a bracket in on the slam panel. adjust it before its too late. I had major problems when mine went

    phil were your bonnet cable appear,s on the bulkhead the retaining screw is the adjuster just release take up slack and resecure
    Driving vauxhall,s for 30 + years
    and still loving it

    Just loosen the bracket bolt and shift the cable until you get the tension

    the sleeve mate. once you loosen the bracket. pull th cable and sleeve as far back to regain the tension. make sure you nip up the retaining bolt tight as the cable can slip

    Job done. Tools required 8mm spanner or socket and pair or pliers. Loosen 8mm nut, grip cable sleeve and pull towards n/s of car. Sleeve should move and tighten. Re-tighten 8mm nut and before dropping the bonnet check the bonnet catch still moves in the cabin.
