    Question Interim / Main service??

    Hi,

Can anyone tell me what is checked or replaced during an interim service and a main service?

Mine is just over 4yrs old with 65k on the clock. It has always had main dealer services but I am wondering weather to carry on with this as its next service is now due.

    Cheers, Bullylad.

Main items are the fluids and filters Oil, Air, fuel, pollen, then, engine, brake and possibly Antifreeze visual inspections are tricky without ramps but not impossible for gaitors balljoints etc and damage to the underside exhaust etc
Then a tech2 code check and reset of the service reminder.

It may not need a tech 2 to reset the service reminder. Its on here - something about holding the milage reset button with the ignition at pos 2.

But basically above, all the filters and its worth while doing the brake fluid and anti freeze, but if you don't do them then at least get them checked for moisture in the brake fluid and the antifreeze concentration.

I personally would also start thinking about the cambelt even though its not really due until 100k, a few have snapped earlier and it would be a massive fight to get it done FOC at vx.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Thanks for the help. I looked on here and found out how to reset the insp reminder

I had the cam belt & pulleys done a couple of weeks ago with a local garage who were really good. Might take it back to them for the service as they are cheaper than VX but don't want them to miss anything that should be done.

Shame you're so far away, my local vx dealership has an offer on for mot and service together, mine's going in in a few weeks.

Interim service and mot, £125. Sounds good to me and keeps up the vx service history
