    Default Sqeaky seat

I have an 08 Vectra SRI 150 CDTI,... after ten months old I had a replacement seat fitted as this was horrendously squeaky when driving on uneven roads. This has now recurred some twelve months after having the replacement fitted.

Vauxhall apparently only have a 12 month warranty on 'trim' which is what they term the seat, despite it containing mechanics for adjustment.

Has anyone else suffered this intolerable problem and had any results for free replacements after 12 months? Damned if i'm paying for a new seat for an 08 plate car!!

Do a search in google, dont think there's much info on this site but i've seen other sites mention squeeky seats on the vrx's and on the astra's... Something to do with the way there bolted down IIRC...

Well,.. I've written to VX to see what solutions they offer for an intolerable squeaky driver's seat (I used the word 'distracting' - poking at health and safety!) - as the dealer has attempted a lubricating repair which has failed, and also a replacement which has still failed - I can't see what else I can do so surely the ball is in their court.... I will advise their response..... 5% chance of it being favourable I suspect!

Hi! I have the same problem on my Opel Vectra 1.9 cdti 120 hp elegance 2008. Many people have that kind of problem here in Croatia in vectras and astras. In my case squeaking is coming from lubal part of back. Here is the link, maybe it will help you.Use google transaltor. I'm sorry for bad English. http://opelclub.hr/forum/viewtopic.php?f=81&t=26822

Mario thanks for that! I've printed that off. VX phoned me today and requested I booked it in again for a full investigation. Said they were not aware of squeaking seat faults for the Vectra ... hmmmmm!! But at least they are being positive which is pleasing! Just shows the advice given to be cheery and complimentary about the car works!!
Now I'll leave the printed notes on the seat for the dealer to digest!!

I had the same problem on my Exclusiv 2006.I had the seat replaced after about 12 months, but the sqeak came back. The dealers did some adjustments/ lubrication and the noise cleared

    Hi Chewy71
Had this problem on my 56 plate exclusiv, probably late 2007 when the car was approximately one year old. Undid the trim on the rear of the drivers seat and sprayed all of the moving parts and contact parts, including adjusters, with silicon spray. Problem has not recurred. Seat trim has two clips below the seat and clips into stiff plastic "rails" down each side. There are a further two clips 2/3rds up the seat which stretch the trim downwards, a little fiddly and best disconnected by feel, but a simple job, much quicker and more effective than a visit to the dealer. Hope it works for you.

    Hi Steve,
Yes I think I'll do this myself over christmas. Seems the dealers are a bunch of clueless clumps really. Just started using my local mechanic again now the car is reaching three years old. Just disappointing to have a new car and find dealers useless or not interested at sorting problems which should be covered.

You know three bolts and unclip the wiring underneath and the whole seat tips forward and out??,

Would make it much easier for lubing up! There's a how2 for the whole interior, I swapped mine to SRi seats so if I can do it......
