Signum rear seat swap?

Hi all,

Is it possible to replace the rear seats in the signum with one(s) from a vectra?

Reason I ask is cos the siggy is great for four, but when there are 5 in it (as I sometimes have), the middle seat is awful. I can't use the centre seat for one of the kids as he needs a "full" seat for hist chair, so I have 2 juggle the other 2 - resulting in arguments over who gets the "plank"

I haven't had them out yet as I guess that the floorpan is most likely different - any help gratefully received.

I only needed 4 when i bought it, then along came a 3rd youngster to have to accommodate.

Happy to take donations to get a "proper" five seater if you're offering......

Because they look great, the extra rear legroom is excellent and the 2 main rear seats are very well engineered. It's just that Vx/Opel made a mistake in not making a 5th seat a dealer-fit option.

No they didn't make a mistake. It was never aimed as a family car. That's why they based the vectra estate on the Signum floor pan - fir the extra legroom.

I know, I'll buy an aerial atom and fit body panels because I don't like getting wet when it rains.

Something tells me GM wanted to sell more Signums than Ariel wants to sell Atoms - when you expect to sell 200 cars a year you can afford to put off 99% of car buyers with your car's limitations, when you want to sell hundreds of thousands, you need to cover the bases a little better. If the Signum wasn't such a rare sight on Europe's roads, there might have been an Insignia based version to look forward to, (the stretched Insignia floorpan was already developed, as used on the new 9-5).
