I have vectra 120 eco cdti lately noticed lack of power in 3rd when cold and intermittent loss of power on hard acceleration when hot but when taking my foot off sometimes power returns. now happening at 2000-300 revs any gear with some stutter. Was intermittent but is now happening more frequent. have used redex with little improvement. No warning lights at all. can anyone help?

welcome to Vec-c Alan .........not being a deiselly man ive no idea ...but i'm sure someone will come along shortly with some ideas ..
Theres always issues with the egr ...swirlvalves but i'm not sure if this relates to your problem

No swirl valves on a 120.They only have them on the 16 valve 150.Sounds like your EGR valve.FELIXX.

ok

yes sounds egr.

try blanking egr for a few days, ignore warning light and see if you're performace issues resolve.

if not then consider cleaning boost sensor, MAF sensor, check all boost hoses and intercooler hoses.

also if it hasn't been serviced recently change air , fuel and oil filters to make sure you're working with clean input to engine.

Thanks all just had a diagnostic done, as you suggested EGR valve was at fault but also a split vacuum tube cost £222 in total, £87 in parts £135 labour !!!! 1.5 hours labour although I watched the mechanic and he did it in 20 mins!!!
