Really annoyed!!!!!!!!

Got a phone call this morning from the missus saying that they are painting the council house next door to us and wanted her to move the car only one problem she can't drive and she told them she can't move it and they had better not get paint on it.

GUESS WHAT!!

Phone call they have got paint on your car little specs all over bonnet I thought she means the small stone chips they couldn't of got paint on it as it's 4 meters away from the house, so ok I'll call the council let them know go home have a look and if it is give it a warm wash and it should hopefully come out.

BUT GUESS WHAT!!!

Got home and some idiot had attempted to get it off with a dry cloth with lots of pressure.

Now I've got a bonnet with a mass of scratches all over it.

Has anyone had anything happen to them like this the council are coming round tomorrow to inspect it?

I got a card through the door from the sub contractor they are using should I speak to him first but he might deny anything as no one was in when the scratches apeared?

you can also make a complaint as vandalism....get at least one witness and those painters will be in trouble.

Take lots of photographs of the car, showing all the damage that has been caused. Get your missus to write down ALL the conversations she had with ANYONE concerned with the incedent, dates and times, while it is still fresh in her mind. Also dates and times of of your conversations with the council. If the council offer to pay for the damage (a respay) get a 'quote' for all the work needed to be done and a hir car if needed while yours is in for repair. As above get as much detail as possible inc times, why would the iddiots try and clean it and then scratch it in the process, and to get paint on your car from about 4 meters away, they must have been rushing and splashing it on big time, i agree above they have vandalised your car.

Thanks yeah Big sig an inexspensive dust sheet and no problem.

The missus said they were rushing about I guess the quicker they do them the quicker the cheque gets to them.

I think I will deal with the council direct as they will most definatly have more systems in place to deal with the situation.

being council properties they will have just slapped it on aswell. I have seen the jobs they have done a few times, not pretty

Bang out of order and totally avoidable. Its hard times for local governments but its the same for us too, make sure you take it all the way mate.
