Default P1125 - Throttle Actuator Malfunction

Hi, driving home from work today and the car slowed down and a spanner with car symbol came on the dash, its a vec c 1.9cdti 150.

managed to get back home, and put opcom on, came back with
    P1125 - Throttle Actuator Malfunction
    (61) - Present

tried cleari ng the fault and it wont clear

so looked up on here but the code on here replates to throttle position sensor fault.

Is the above code description the same?

If it is the tps, does anybody know the cost of replacement one?

    cheers for any help

Could be anything from the mechanicsim in the throttle housing, choked up throttle body, poor connections/wiring, throttle position sensor.

Mines has a dodgy sensor but is going to the dealer tomorrow for confirmation.

    Default

for the sake of a throttle body gasket, i'd remove it and clean.

and whilst you're there if its gunked up then do the same for the egr valve and the boost sensor

check wiring for obvious damage then replace parts. check fuses to ensure one hasn't blown

If you leave the battery off for a while this might clear the stored faults from the ecu

if this fixes it then have a go at taking the butterfly valves off too. see the current thread about it..

    good luck

I decided to have a look at the tb, so removed it and it was thick with sut, after stripping and cleaning, it looked almost new. I then had a look at the entrance to the inlet, and that was the same. after cleaning that as best as i could i must have removed just over half a cup of sut. also removed the egr and strangly the egr looked new, the only thing that was dirty was the body that the egr bolts too. I also removed the boost sensor and that too was gunked up.

Replaced everything with new gaskets, and used the fiat gasket for the egr body.

Also did the fuel filter as that was black. Seems a lot more responsive now, still a bit weak upto 2k but pins me back better than it did before.

No faults come up at the moment but i will wait and see, fingers crossed!!

    cheers guys

forgot to add that i did eventually fix the fault and alls i did was resolder the joints on the board inside the tb, fixed it not long after this post was created and thankfully to this day its still problem free. Hopefully this will help others.

One thing to mention was the joints looked perfectly fine, but must have been dry as after i soldered them its been fine

I just took the plate off in October and finally got round to resoldering the joints - again like yours they looked ok, but dry. Resoldered them but haven't replaced the plate yet and I probably won't. No trouble from it.
