    Default tyre pressure question,

next week I am going to Maidstone to a funeral, I will have three heavy passenger's plus cases, my question,, my tyres a FALKEN 912 EXTRA LOAD, I run them on 34 psi, I know it says on the tyre 50 psi max, but what sort of increase should I put in as have never run the car with this sort of weight in before it's a round trip of 460 M-WAY miles + a bit of running about.

42 seems very high to me.

I usually put in about 33 when just me, maybe go up to 35 when loaded. I also have the same tyre size.

50 PSI max on the tyre is for the tyre not for on the car.

I really can't see it making much difference to be honest for one journey. And you would have to be really anal to change your tyre pressures for every journey, it's probably a waste of time and effort.

I wouldn't worry about it and leave them where they are.

As suggested, your best bet is to RTFM. Different pressures depending on what engine is fitted as well.

My 3.0CDTi Siggy on 17's is supposed to run at 39 psi. I always have to ask tyre fitters to set them this high, though, or they end up around 28!

    Clomp.

    What motor is it?

Agree with the handbook recommendation. My handbook stated different psi than many internet sites did. I trust vauxhall stated psi over anybody elses.
