Throttle Position Sensor...

With regards to the following thread:

The car finally decided to through a fit today, spanner light and ABS/TC light came on. The engine would sit at 1,500rpm and this was independant of throttle position ie the throttle pedal done nothing.

Got it to a local garage who plugged it up for nothing and it has thrown up a fault relating to the sensor at the top of the pedal, however as the diagnostic was general I was urged to go to either Vauxhall or a local Diesel specialist for full proper diagnosis - ie to check if it is a faulty throttle sensor, dodgy connector/connection, ECU etc.

If it was the throttle sensor at the pedal what is the cost i'm looking at?

throttle pedal sensor.price is £128.part number is(93181881).ive just been on the phone to vauxhall to order some parts for my self so i asked about the part you were after.the person in the parts department said you need the full pedal assembly as it comes as a full unit.hope this helps you bud

Got the car back from the dealer and the Throttle Pedal needs replaced. Dealer was quoting £353, but I walked away with just paying for the diagnostic.

TBH throttle pedal failure is very rare mate

Depends how much you can get a new one for then?
Compared with your dealer quote I think the used one seems a good bet lol

The worrying thing is the car is the dealer has stipulated that they will replace and then 're-assess'. I worry this is a wiring issue or worse ECU problem.
