Default Signum dashboard lights and dials not working

The dashboard lights and dials (temp, fuel, revs, speedo) on my 05 Signum 1.9CDTI all seem to go out intermitently or not come on with the ignition and/or fail to come back on until they have a mind to! The latest development is that the dashboard functions went off this morning, but retained the speed, revs and fuel level indications at the point of going off. I.e. It is now stuck at 55mph and 2000 revs, etc! Can anyone tell me what the problem is?

Sounds like a possible CIM failure. However try the "rushy" - clean the abs connector plug.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

From first hand experience of your symptoms, you might want to consider getting it sorted out sooner rather than later.

My Vec C dials and lights on the dash started playing up and stopping key out and restarting cured it for about a month. It then started to happen more frequent. Eventually it left the car for dead. Not even the central locking worked.. had to manually use the key to open, and put up with the alarm.

Better to get it fixed whilst the car is still driving than go through the real pain of having to get the car to the garage by towing or back of a breakdown truck.

I will clean the ABS plug and disconnect the battery - hoping that the problem isn't the CIM module.

The situation has been deteriorating so concerned to hear the the final chapter could be a dead car on the back of a tow truck. It would be good to know what the resolve was in that case!

Aidi, what was the final diagnosis on your vehicle? Did you get it fixed and how?

CIM Module was knackered. New one in and right as rain. As others have eluded, expect to pay around £400-500 to have it replaced and reprogramed by VX.

    Thumbs up Reply from SJMIOW61

Thanks for the advice, I will try the quick remedies before such as cleaning the ABS plug before booking the car into vauxhall for the CIM module check and fix.

I will post an update once resolved.

    Regards... Steve

Don't pay stealer for such a bill. Most module are fail on power supply. Open and get it fix would be easy. Or, you could buy a second hand one and replaced eeprom of "new" module by "old" module and enjoy.
