I agree, the standard alarm is pants, don't know why they just didn't use the horns anyway and save money. Would like to know if it's possible to stop the message appearing also because if so, then my sounder is being unplugged tomorrow

Haven't had the dosh to fit one yet, but I contacted these people for advice, maybe they can tell you? Seem helpful.

Thanks for the email regarding the price for supply and fit of a Loud alarm
    for your car.

The prices are dependent on where and when you are looking to get the alarm
system fitted so the best thing to do is give me a call and I will be happy
to run through the different options and prices for you.

we are open until 10 pm and look forward to hearing from you

    Thanks

To be honest you could have a fog horn attached to your car and people would still ignore it.

you could extend the boot loom and place the siren on the out side the car say in the bumper area ..that would make it loud

I'd considered running a wire from the live side of the siren in the boot to the engine bay then connected to a relay to power a loud siren. But it turns out I'm lazy and pressing a button on the steering wheel whenever I start the car is much easier.

Thats right, just unplug the wire from the back of the alarm, but make sure all the doors are unlocked to stop the thing going off in your face.
I doesn't work on all vec's, mind included. You'll probably get the safe guard warning.
